Creating a Viable Food System

Last summer and fall, Sweet Grass collaborated with Thunder Valley and Village Earth to conduct a comprehensive grocery store and food hub feasibility study.

We talked with schools, producers, processors, grocery and restaurant retailers, food hubs, farmers' markets, community members, and more. Village Earth complimented the research by mapping all the gardens in Oglala Lakota Country, large-scale production types, soil types, agricultural capability, grocery demand, and much more.
